Dean R. Pickerell has held an executive position with this SBIC since 1985. He has extensive experience in the areas of venture capital, buyouts, private equity, and subordinated debt lending. Dean has served on the Board of Directors of several public and private companies, including non-profit organizations, and served on the NAIC trade association Board. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Iowa State University and completed course work for an MBA at Mankato State University.
Stephen Lewis has been working with small businesses since 1989, starting as a strategic and operations consultant and evolving to a small business owner, and ultimately to an investor and portfolio manager. As a senior member of Medallion Capital’s management team, Steve has been involved in over 65 investments since 1998, serving as a member of the Investment Committee, underwriting most deals and monitoring many. Mr. Lewis has served on several corporate boards and currently focuses on strategic growth of the portfolio. He is a past President of the Midwest Region of the Small Business Investor Alliance (SBIA) and also served on its National Board of Governors. Mr. Lewis has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Industrial Engineering from Ohio University. When not working on deals, Steve can be found in his fishing boat or riding his Harley.

Alexander S. Travis has over 10 years of private equity, investment banking and institutional asset management experience. Prior to joining MCI, Alex was responsible for new business development at Northstar Capital, a Minneapolis-based subordinated debt fund focused primarily on private equity-backed lower middle market transactions. Prior to that, Alex held positions with Aviva Investors and Churchill Capital, and began his career in Minneapolis with Piper Jaffray & Co. Alex holds a B.S. in Finance from Iowa State University.

Frank Marsicano is a former banker with over two decades of financing and credit analysis experience. Prior to joining Medallion Capital, he was involved with a team that developed two new lending groups within Amalgamated Bank and Signature Bank, where he led the lower middle market business development efforts. Additionally, Frank spent time as an underwriter for the CIT Group focusing on cash flow and ABL transactions, and as a Portfolio Manager for AmSouth Capital. Frank earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Manhattan College. Frank enjoys coaching his kids sports and playing music. Frank offices at our New York headquarters.

Aaron Price is a Vice President at Medallion Capital, where he is focused on underwriting, deal structuring and portfolio management. Prior to joining Medallion Capital, Aaron worked in all aspects of private equity buyout and subordinated lending for a Minnesota-based SBIC. Before that he held various roles in strategy, corporate development and operations at Turner Broadcasting and Cisco Systems (f/k/a) Scientific Atlanta. Aaron has a B.S. in finance from the University of Minnesota and an M.B.A. from Emory University. Aaron lives in suburban Minneapolis with his wife and three young children. In his spare time, he enjoys family vacations, fishing, hiking, and reading.
